Family Engagement Events are about making sure families are included in the education of their child. We have two major field trips for the year:

Murray's Farms 
Lancaster Performing Arts Theatre 

We also do fun Recitals in the Winter and End of the school year.  

We have our Thanksgiving Lunch together 

One of the programs we will be starting will be the ability for the parents to come in and read a story to the class. In this way we can share traditions and cultures with the children in our program. 

We will also make avaliable 20 min parenting webinars for free! 

We can not do what we do here at Perfect Start Learning without the involvement of the parents. The parents are the first teachers of the children and you should always feel involved in the learning process.

These are activities that we do to help expand our world and encourage learning of larger concepts. All of these are done in a fun way that is developmentally appropriate and encourages children to ask questions about the world around them. 

Miss Harmony will be able to teach our students yoga movements to help them continue to develop healthy habits. But another resource that can provide an excellent school to home connection is Cosmic Kids Yoga! Sometimes our littles have such a build up of energy or there is a wait between our next activities that allows us to use Super Yoga videos to help expend the energy before we begin our next activity. It is especially helpful on those days that we can not get outside due to heat or rain.

Sometimes our littles need a little extra help processing their emotions and learning how to express themselves. Sometimes they need help to develop their confidence and independence. They ALWAYS need the adults in their lives to tell them they are awesome and we are SO glad they are here. 

This is why we chose to use the Slumberkins Curriculum. We begin building relationships from the very first day and part of that is letting children and their families know we are invested in their child's emotional and social well-being as they move through their education journey and take more independent steps into the world. 

Introduction to music for young children is about expanding their interests. It helps them with math and hand and eye coordination. Even if they do not pursue or continue with music study it was fun, hands on and they are able to practice playing music. It also helps with appreciation of different types of music. It is not about them mastering the music and playing it perfectly, its about them enjoying the process of learning something new. In this way they will seek out new learning experiences and feel confident that even if they are not the best at it, that they still had fun learning! 

Prodigies Music

All Concepts are introduced to all children, but we do not expect them to master all concepts. Starfall curriculum is set up to be a building block in which all children are able to learn new concepts in fun ways while not applying pressure to be perfect before we can move on. Here at Perfect Start Learning we are a one room school house, which is beautiful! The children are able to work through new concepts that they have learned during play with their peers. They formulate new questions and we often go off on tangets to explore what they are interested in based on the questions they have asked. 

While we use this curriculum it is not used cover to cover with no regard for the different learning styles of the children. The best thing about this curriculum is we are fully about to customize it according to the skills the children are working out and if they need to have it taught to them a different way.
