It seemed like the month of July went on FOREVER!!! At the same time, it seemed so short. I didn’t even have time to do half the things I planned for this curriculum! So I wanted to help out by showing parents and teachers where I get the ideas I have for the monthly themes. On the Mother Goose Time website, they post about the themes for the year. That makes it easy to develop ideas and get a list together. Often, I want to introduce the children to so many things that I get overwhelmed with ideas. I want to do so much with the children and there are so many ideas. But we need to organize so that we can give the kids a better experience. So here are the websites I have used for the month of July. This month was the Camp theme. Here are pictures of the activities that we did this month that came with the mother goose time curriculum. Now before I get into the website and services I use to help me add more to the month. I wanted to show what Mother Goose time Has on their site to help support the parents, providers and teachers who use their programs. Mother Goose time has member resources that can be accessed with a code from each of the teacher planning guides. They give you content to put into your own Newsletters. The curriculum itself comes with a newsletter all prepared to hand out to the parents. It makes it easier to include the parents in the education of their children. They also have a book list for the month. You can order the books from Mother Goose Time or you can order them from Amazon.com. They also have on their website a gathering of resources for you to use. I would Also encourage you to check out their website for more fun information and updates to the curriculum. Now Mother Goose Time is great because it allows me to unleash the creativity I have inside. There is plenty of room for me to come up with ideas and fun things to do with the children. But where did I get these fun ideas? Preschool Plan It has a ton of ideas and they make it easy for you to look for specific things by having activities divided up into skill sections. For one of the things I wanted to do I looked under Gross Motor skills. Pretend fishing is something that can be missed when doing the camping theme since most of time we concentrate on making s’mores. Or making pretend camp fires. Pretending to be on a fishing boat to fish is an excellent way for children to understand everything goes into camping. Another site is, atoz teacher stuff. This website lists many other sites with resources under themes you may be looking up. The site can be a bit overwhelming because it has a TON of resources. But if you have an idea of what you are looking for it can be quite useful. For example, this is an excellent site to find songs to use with the theme of the month or even just on a weekly basis. These are two sites that I used to help me with ideas to build into my Mother Goose Time camping theme. I will make sure to add in more stuff as I find them! For now Live long and keep teaching! -Ms. Tessie Mother Goose Time provides this curriculum for an honest review. |
