. I am currently sitting in Atlanta in the hotel The Ellis, and I am so jazzed despite the amount of sleep I have gotten since I landed on Thursday. Oh....that was yesterday right?? Ok so I worked all day Wednesday. Because I am a small business owner and I just can't close. I wouldn't be successful if that was the case. I worked from 6am-430pm and proceeded to drive 2 and a half hours so I could catch my flight in vegas. Got caught in a traffic jam and then had to speed walk/run to get to my flight on time. I have met my exercise quota for the rest of the month. I did not have time to go to sleep when I got in and I barely slept on the plane. Are you counting? I have been up since 6am Cali time and landed with practically no sleep in Atlanta. Checked into the hotel made myself look all pretty and went right to the conference center. Or tried. I got lost for a bit. This is normal for me. Don't worry. Expo I attended the Expo both days so far and it is so hard not to buy all the things!!! Lakeshore is one of my favorite stores for educational supplies and they are coming out with the most adorable outdoor classroom furniture. It looks like wicker. But it is very sturdy and reinforced with a steel frame. This means it is suppose to hold up longer than the plastic outdoor furniture. What makes this better is that if you wanted you could hold your entire class out doors if you wanted. Which I am going to try when it gets warmer here. It is going to be more expensive than my tiny program is use too but I think that the benefits to the children will be so awesome.
I gathered so much information that I am going to be breaking it up into different blogs to discuss them. For the last of the furniture that caught my eye I will talk about the company Childcraft. While walking around the conference in a sleepy daze, flashing lights caught my eye. I am easily distracted. This career field is perfect for me. Anyway, i was a cube. This cube is like a light table (which they also sell), but the entire thing lights up and pictures can be placed all over it. The cube comes with a remote that controls the colors and speed of the lights. It is also chargeable. Which is great since a concern for these types of products is where the cord is located. This cube has the potential to help the children stay engaged with the activity. That is it for now. I am super tired and I have to check out and be back at the center to take three more classes before the conference is over. I will be going over the information from the sessions over the next couple of days. I will also have a hand out made up with a list of the resources that you can try within your programs. Until tomorrow!
