Learning about the ocean with Mother Goose Time in April has been super fun. Especially since I was able to find so many add on ways to create a hands on environment for them to explore this theme. When I checked the lesson plan book for Day 19 and saw that we were learning about submarines I got quite excited. Mostly because I have been OBSESSED with Casper Babypants version of Yellow Submarine. (Currently arguing with my husband over the fact that I do not like the Beatles version. DON'T JUDGE!). The day before we received in the mail boxes of toys from Amazon for my outdoor classroom area. (Future post will happen to elaborate on the outdoor classroom). I decided the boxes had to be used for something fun in the outdoor classroom. And what is more fun than painting the boxes yellow and then using them for pretend play. I then proceeded to set them up as a center and called them over two at a time to take turns to paint the boxes. It didn't have to be perfect, just fun.
So for your viewing pleasure.....My class being loud in a half yellow submarine :) Live Long and Keep Teaching! |
